I want to be reading more in 2013. I'll break these books up into "tiers," which you can think of as 'priorities' if you will, with tier 1 being top priority that I'll be actually reading in the next week. "Tier 2" is kind of like the next group of books I'll start on. Note that the top of Tier 2 can overlap with the bottom of Tier 1 sometimes but not always. It's complicated. There are several levels. I never read one book at a time.
Tier 1
First up is finishing American Gods. It's been hard for me to read. I really need to be trading it back to my friend Khailee who loaned it to me. If you're reading this Khailee - I'm SO sorry I've been so lame. I'm half-way done with it.
My mom wants me to read her book How to Wash a Cat by Rebecca M. Hale. It's a kind of mystery drama - a very sweet book. She's been bugging me for a while, so that will probably be new book I start, sometime this week.
John got me the next two Schlock comic books for Christmas (Junk Yard of Insufferable Arrogance and Resident Mad Scientist). I've already started the first one and will be reading it in bed before I go to sleep. It's wonderful stuff.
Tier 2
Along with that, I'll be working on finishing Connor's book.
I want to start that SF my BSF friend gave me that her daughter wrote.
I need to finish Sanderson's Well of Ascension so I can get to book 3 of the Mistborn triology and start his novella The Emperor's Soul. (I stopped reading it because it was TOO exciting/stressful and I couldn't take any more of that in December.)
I need to finish Mere Christianity.
Tier 3
My brother got me a collection of H.G. Wells books for Christmas! I'd like to read Asimov's Foundation triology. I've also got a bunch of Pratchet I pick through now and then and an exponentionally growing stack of SF and classics by my bed, all of which I look at with eager eyes every time I sleep. I want to read ALL of those. Yup.
