Trooping with the Rebel Legion and 501st!
I joined Rebel Legion and the 501st in the July 4th Parade at Avondale Estates, a city near Emory. It was a blast and John had fun too! I got to meet lots of Rebel Legion and 501st members and hear interesting lore of the groups.
Setting Up
In the parade, there were acrobats, superheroes, Star Wars characters and many other people. There was even a bat mobile! Here are some photos of the gang of people setting up and getting dressed in the parking lot.
Learning sword fighting? Yes!
Kent, the guy in the blue striped Jedi outfit, asked me if I wanted to learn sword play, and I said yes, of course. I still have yet to get Jedi poses down. That will take some work. I would love to have a little sword fighting under my belt, if only to look more proper holding a lightsaber!
The Parade
The Jedi and rebel pilots walked in front and the troopers behind. The Star Wars characters were largely in back of the parade. The last and best! We had a truck in front of us playing Star Wars music.
Trooper Antics
The troopers were absolutely hilarious, of course! Most of them are extreme characters and quite witty. One was making jokes, asking kids to join the Imperial Army. Since the parade stopped frequently, troopers walked among the crowd, high fived people and tried to sit in chairs, to everyone's amusement.
The best part was when we came in view of a yard sale on the main drag. The Jedi made bets and said - watch! The troopers will go up there. I know it. And they certainly did, making a show of looking over the stuff. It was hilarious!

Parade: Tony Stark's Photos, aka Jeff
Our liaison for this event was Tony Stark, aka Jeff, a guy who looked *exactly* like Iron Man. I'll leave it to you to figure out which one he is in the pictures below. It's pretty obvious. He gathered us and coordinated the event. His parade photos are much better than mine, so I post them here.

The rest of my photos weren't the best, but I include them here on Photobucket for those of you who might be interested.
