FOUR YEARS!! Words cannot describe how ecstatic I am about this snow. Dad drove me home. When we got home, I went about taking measurements of snow depth with a ruler. Mom made hot chocolate! Dad made a fire in the fireplace. I'm not sure if a day could be more perfect. Here are my snow measurements and pictures below, with caveats. Snow Depth MeasurementsWeebly does not allow tables, so I wrote the following tables very inefficiently, first in Excel, then pasted into Word, then copy screened and pasted into Paint and saved as a jpg. The result: some of the tables got messed up because they wouldn't paste into Word properly, so not all of them look the best. I might try to fix it later, but I was trying to go fast because John wants to play TOR with me and was waiting on me. Keep in mind, measurements in the grass are really estimates since the grass is not a hard surface. It took about an hour to measure these, according to John. He made me watch it. I never watch these things. It's completely absurd! It has a bunch of people dressed up as animals and asks - people know what noises animals make, but - what does the FOX say? And then goes on and on, with silly dances about it, saying even MORE absurd things and making up possible fox noises. It will be forever shrouded in mystery ... but he wants to KNOW. I laughed. There's no other response to this nonsense. Go ahead. Click on it. It's funny. You know how I like nonsense. How can I not recommend it? Lyrics, "What Does the Fox Say?"

I don't want too many blogs though. Random blog will do for it. John and I were totally silly this Saturday. We just spent time with each other, because all last week, he was just as busy as I was, I was always home late, and I felt like, we didn't see each other much. We had a good, peaceful day - went to O'Charlies as a date. I got to hear about the books John's reading, some about Warmachine, and stuff. The waitress said we were so cute! That's the second waitress to say that in a month! <3 Makes me happy, oh yes - John is amazing! Exhibit of a Particularly Ridiculous ConversationI was fluffing and laying on John's pillow while he did something with his laptop and I said, "You're pillow is so soft!" He said, "No, it's filled with ... [wait for it, wait for it - what non sequitur will he say?] ... chicken livers." I laughed. "Chicken livers feel good!" He was made speechless by this comment - a rarity for John. I laughed even harder. "Have you ever felt a chicken liver?" He turned around, slowly, and gave me this *stunned* look. It was SO amazing! I've never laughed that hard in a LONG time!! Probably in at least a year. I told him, I bet you didn't expect me to say that! He said, that would be a true statement. It's so hard to get any reaction out of John - he's pretty stoic, most of the time - nothing surprises him. So, when he does make a face, it's *good.* And it's true. Chicken livers feel amazingly silky smooth and so cool - I love touching them - mom cooked some for the cats once, and I helped. Shortly after this, he did a silly dance and I told him he looked like an egg head - and laughed hysterically at *that* because, I said, I had no idea what that meant. He said, that makes two of us and I must be still tired. I was laughing an unusually lot, it's true. Brandon Sanderson, my favorite author, says that kids find things that don't make sense funny, but adults usually graduate to more subtle forms of humor, that rely on word plays and such. I, on the other hand, have never graduated to this more refined kind of humor - non sequiturs and nonsense are still my *favorite* - and I laugh hysterically at such things. I wonder what this says about me. I do like other humor ... nonsense though, is such fun. More Flula Borg - ha!I watched "Fish in a barrel" twice this week - I think it's my favorite that he's done - I love this guy! He makes fun of American idioms. Not all of them are good, but I've found a lot of funny ones. The phrase "easy as shooting fish in a barrel" never made sense to me either, and I wonder about it as a kid, along with others, so hearing someone voice some of these things makes me laugh hysterically. The part about the cake in this one is my favorite - John even laughed - though he doesn't find these as funny as I do. Here's one about "skeletons in the closet." Here's one on "Whatever floats your boat." The "cat's pajamas" - I am not even really sure what that one means, though I've heard it. I think it means something is "awesome" but as to the origin of it - I haven't a clue. This interview is GREAT! |
