Thursday: Thoughts of John
How Much He Saturates My Life
Sometimes, I forget how much he defines me, but thinking about it recently - my eyes became huge in my mind - and I thought ... Whoa. My life is totally saturated by John. And he makes it so rich and wonderful!
John completely fills my life with so much richness and love - I'd be left adrift and lost without him! He loves me without stint, is hilarious and is so very tender and caring toward me. Everything I am and do is bordered and filigreed with John. We are most certainly one - in heart, mind, spirit and purpose. There is no part of who I am that he has not filtered into.
And I am ever so grateful for him and ever so immeasurably blessed. I tell John all the time that I love him, even if he never understands it. Someday, I hope the Lord shows Him what a truly wonderful man he is and how valuable he is, so that he believes it.
Unique and Wonderful - Uniquely John
How wonderful the Lord is to us, that He gives us love, in so many flavors! Love for family, for friends, for a wonderful spouse, and encompassing them all is His love - for Him and absolutely everyone - the very best kind, that fills everything and is better than all. Maybe, I'm just starting to understand a piece of that. His love makes all the other loves sweeter.
Card #1: Part 1 Sentiment
On Our Anniversary
Every time I look at you, I see both the amazing man I married and the incredible potential God has put in you.
Who you are, your gifts, and the things that motivate you are so clearly God-given ... so attractive .... so perfect for making me smile and love you more.
It makes me feel honored and excited to be beside you every day, letting the Lord lead us toward all He has for our lives. Somehow, every time I look at you, my heart seems to remind me ... Wow. I am so blessed to call you mine.
"We can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord." -- II Corinthians 3:18 TLB
Card #2: Part 2 Sentiment
There are moments when I catch myself saying "Wow, that's my husband." They seem to come in the most ordinary times - when you're laughing with our family, when we're spending time with friends, when you and I are together doing nothing at all. I'm still just amazed that out of all the women in the world, I'm the one who gets to share life with you.
After all this time, I still don't know all the reasons why God trusted me with one of His most incredible gifts... but I'll be grateful every day for the rest of my life that He did.
"When I found the one my heart loves... I held him and would not let him go." -Song of Solomon 3:14 NIV
