To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, I trust in You;
Let me not be ashamed;
Let not my enemies triumph over me.
3 Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed;
Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.
4 Show me Your ways, O Lord;
Teach me Your paths.
5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses,
For they are from of old.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions;
According to Your mercy remember me,
For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.
8 Good and upright is the Lord;
Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.
9 The humble He guides in justice,
And the humble He teaches His way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth,
To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.
11 For Your name’s sake, O Lord,
Pardon my iniquity, for it is great.
12 Who is the man that fears the Lord?
Him shall He[a] teach in the way He[b] chooses.
13 He himself shall dwell in prosperity,
And his descendants shall inherit the earth.
14 The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him,
And He will show them His covenant.
15 My eyes are ever toward the Lord,
For He shall pluck my feet out of the net.
16 Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me,
For I am desolate and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart have enlarged;
Bring me out of my distresses!
18 Look on my affliction and my pain,
And forgive all my sins.
19 Consider my enemies, for they are many;
And they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 Keep my soul, and deliver me;
Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me,
For I wait for You.
22 Redeem Israel, O God,
Out of all their troubles!
Thoughts
The Lord gave me this psalm today and it's the perfect psalm ever! I love it. It applies to me perfectly, except I don't have enemies. I'm thankful for that. He gave me things to pray for today. Pray that when Dr. Lynn comes back, he won't be disappointed with me. Pray the Lord shows me what to do today and leads me. And pray my brother has a fantastic birthday! We're planning to see the Hobbit, part II, tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. to celebrate. I'm really nervous about that, because I'm afraid it'll cut into my experiments. I'm asking the Lord to take care of that for me.
I can only cast myself on Him, do my best and trust Him for all those things that I have no idea about and can't do. I think He's still up to lots of stuff. Sometimes I see glimpses. I trust the Lord will show me what I need to see, when it's time. He won't make me wait forever. He reminded me of that again. The enemy would like us to think the Lord doesn't provide and will make us wait forever and never come, so that we'll give up hope, not trust Him and look to other sources. But the Lord is the best Giver. He doesn't give us desires He doesn't intend to fill.
Matthew 4:1-4, "Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, 'If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.'4 But He answered and said, 'It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”[a] [...later...]
Matthew 4:11, "11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him."
Matthew 7:7-11, "7 'Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!'"
James 1:16-18, "16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures."
