Day 1 word count: 2,229
And so it begins. Unfortunately, I've found out that I'm more of a discovery writer or 'panser' than I am an outliner. Things like Nano are very useful for helping me just get words on the page. Fan fic writing has helped enormously for learning how to write in shorter chapter-like chunks.
Nevertheless, I still don't know everything thing in my story. It's taking shape as I write. I'm currently somewhere in the mid-beginning point, having used last nano and some of this year to bust out the beginning. I know where I want the story to end - but still have no real outline of how that will happen. I hesitate to post any chapters because they are all *extremely* rough and little or none of them may appear in a 'final version.' We'll see.
What I'd like to do is use this Nano to get me launched into writing every day consistently about ~1500 words. For some reason, the habit eludes me. But nothing gets my blood fired up like a good challenge!
