September 1, 2015, Tuesday, T7 experiments and 3D printing GFP ribbons
Pharmacology class: After that, I went to pharmacology class, where I learned the differences between agonists (receptor activators), antagonists and modulators. There was a cake sitting there next to the classroom that was partially eaten so I helped finish it off.
3D printing: After class, I went to the 3D printing shop and cleaned up my newest creation – GFP ribbon model!!!! Oh, that one is so awesome. It looks amazing. Khalid loved it too and wants to show it to the class. I’m going to try to figure out how to get all the models into that same thick-ribbons conformation.
Experiments: After the 3D printing shop and eating a quick lunch, I worked on setting up new transcription reactions, to test my T7 enzyme that I had expressed. I did that, took samples of the reactions and froze them to run on a gel tomorrow. And that was the day! Essentially.
