Bedtime routine
I wrote about bedtime a while back, about how I tried to read Isaiah a different Psalm every night. However, eventually, I decided I should stick with one, so that he could get to know it. I chose Psalm 23. So every night, goes something like this:
Me: Isaiah, remember Jesus helps you with your good days and your bad days.
Isaiah: Good days bad days! Bad dreams.
Me: Yes, He helps you with bad dreams too. Remember Jesus always watches over you and takes care of you. You know it says that in Psalm 23? It says, "The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters."
Isaiah: Waters!
Me: Mmhm. Waters. "He storeth my soul."
Isaiah: Soul!
Me: Mmhm. Soul. "He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His namesake."
Isaiah: Namesake!
Me: Mmhm. Namesake. "Yea, thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death..."
Isaiah: Death.
Me: Mmhm. "I will fear no evil..."
Isaiah: Eeeeee (meaning "evil")
Me: "For thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou anointest my head with oil. My cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Isaiah: (indistinct word)
Me: Let's pray, Isaiah. "Lord, please be with little Isaiah. Help him to know you at a young age, hearing your Voice and following in your paths all his days. Lead Him Lord to feel your manifest Presence and love always around him. And give him a heart for you God. Amen." I love you Isaiah. Sleep well and I'll see you in the morning!
