James found this extremely funny video. This gamer guy GoldVision manages to make a video race in Planetside 2, an action RPG-MMO, into a dry humor stand-up comedy routine, practically. Everything he says is kind of nonsensical and hilarious - I loved it! - to my surprise. I encourage you to watch it, even if maybe, you don't love video games. You don't have to know anything about Planetside 2 to enjoy it.

About the Day of SnowSo, we heard yesterday that James left work for home around 1 p.m. or so, when he realized the snow was getting heavy. What usually was a 15 min drive took him 3 hrs. On the way, he picked up McDonald's for the day and bought enough for today too. Mom thought that was extremely far sighted of him. I rather agree. John and I took a walk through the snow! I put my contacts on so I could properly see all of it. I simply loved everything I saw. (I may wear contacts occasionally, but make no mistake - I'll always be a glasses person.) I made really strong eight o'clock coffee and had great coffee with whipped cream before we left. I took lots of pictures of the snow, which I've attached below. All the cars have been beatified with a crown of snow. Unfortunately, it's too cold to build a snowman right now. I don't think I'll build a snowman this year. I just want to enjoy looking at the snow. I feel a bit too tired to do otherwise. This is a very rare day, when John gets off work, so we're going to spend it enjoying each other's company and playing some games. We both need the time together. I'm sorry for the people who got stuck on the roads. This weather completely stunned the pants off most people it seems, including me. But I simply cannot regret the snow. I love snow. And I love today! This snow has completely made my day and it's the best thing I've seen in a while. There couldn't be more of perfect day, in my book, except for rare exceptions. I remember one time a while back when it snowed, we took sleds and sledded down the gigantic steep hill in our subdivision. It was AMAZING! For humor, check out the comics I put under the gallery and also this link about the snow of '82, which apparently stranded lots of people as well. Enjoy the snow people! This is a time for joy. :D GalleryLastly, this is all I have to say, people: stay home, unless you're a Northerner infiltrating GA and know how to deal with driving on snow (and have the equipment for it)! :DIntroI've been waiting for snow for nearly four years ... FOUR YEARS!! Words cannot describe how ecstatic I am about this snow. Dad drove me home. When we got home, I went about taking measurements of snow depth with a ruler. Mom made hot chocolate! Dad made a fire in the fireplace. I'm not sure if a day could be more perfect. Here are my snow measurements and pictures below, with caveats. Snow Depth MeasurementsWeebly does not allow tables, so I wrote the following tables very inefficiently, first in Excel, then pasted into Word, then copy screened and pasted into Paint and saved as a jpg. The result: some of the tables got messed up because they wouldn't paste into Word properly, so not all of them look the best. I might try to fix it later, but I was trying to go fast because John wants to play TOR with me and was waiting on me. Keep in mind, measurements in the grass are really estimates since the grass is not a hard surface. It took about an hour to measure these, according to John. Total measurements in front part of the backyard: 27 Total measurements in middle/back part of the backyard: 36 Total measurements: 63 *All measurements are in inches *Measurements taken ~5-6 pm Snow Picture GalleryThe name plate John got for his desk - looks snazzy!Yuan invited me to her house on Friday to eat, but I had to leave early to go to the library course; Keon texted me about it. I think he looks so awesome.Amazing steaks from Hennessy Lexus mom cooked last nightJames's beast super computer. He designed every part of it, down to where the fans should go, how many there should be and how they'd take the heat away. He designed it so that it could be expanded with two graphics cards if necessary in future. I realized suddenly ... James knows A LOT about computers!!James, the awesome dude, super computer guyMaintenance workers fixing the elevator today. I was feeling worried they'd fall in down the shaft like in movies. And it reminded me of a trolley. I thought it was cool. |
